In this 23 page Google Slides digital lesson and activity resource, students will learn what a transition is, why transitions are used, when transitions should be used, and the different categories of transitions. Then, students will have an opportunity to practice applying the skills they learned on two student task slides. Students will identify transitions in a paragraph using the Google highlighting tool and then on task 2, students will insert transitions from a word bank correctly into a paragraph.
This lesson is great for distant learning, in person learning, hybrid learning, and even in an asynchronous learning setting.

RACER is a paragraph writing organizational tool . This lesson teaches students how to use the RACER acronym which will help to ensure students are answering open ended response questions with the appropriate information, while also helping to keep their responses organized. The lesson will review the steps of using this graphic organizer strategy and what information is needed in each step. This lesson can be posted into Google Classroom and students can write directly on this presentation. All you need to do is insert your desired open ended response question!

In this Sensory Imagery resource, students will learn about sensory imagery. They will learn what imagery is, why authors use imagery that appeals to the senses, and ways to identify imagery. Students will then be given 3 different tasks to complete to help them practice identifying imagery and writing with imagery. The last activity involves students writing a poem with imagery that appeals to the five senses.

In this 29 page Google Slide Presentation, students will learn about textual evidence including why to use textual evidence, how to use textual evidence, the different types of textual evidence, and mistakes to avoid when using textual evidence. This lesson will review using direct quotes, paraphrasing, and summarizing as ways to include textual evidence in writing. Examples of each type of textual evidence is included. The end of this lesson includes one practice activity.
